Fathala Park
Senegal
Fathala Wildlife Reserve, located just 15 minutes' drive from the Gambian border, spans approximately 6,000 hectares of unspoiled, protected forest. This extraordinary area offers visitors a rare chance to experience a preserved stretch of West African wilderness in its original, natural state.
Fathala has made remarkable strides in conservation, particularly in saving some of the rarest and most beautiful antelope species from extinction.
At the Western Giant Eland section of the reserve, visitors can encounter an incredible variety of wildlife, including rhinoceroses, giraffes, roan antelopes, waterbucks, buffalo, and Red Colobus monkeys. Playful monkey families can often be spotted high up in the towering African mahogany trees.
One of the most unforgettable experiences at Fathala is the opportunity to walk with lions in their natural habitat, guided by experienced rangers, and enjoy a thrilling guided game drive through this vibrant reserve.
